"My aim is not to describe the car in itself. I am not only trying to paint its beautiful shape, but mainly expressing the emotion coming out of those scenes. My interest resides in the relation, almost a familial link between the man and the machine. Men create the car and from their ingenuity and tenacity we have discover some exceptional vehicles."


If Yahn Janou paints exclusively racing cars, he reproduces episodes like: pitstops, refueling breaks, pilot changes, start preparatories. His scenes always mixed pilots, mechanics, engineers around the car.

The car, symbol of power, speed, victory, technological research, is more often represented during breaks. Even if the car doesn't move, the scene illustrates the tension and activities occuring the race. This part is at least as important as the driving one.

Beyond the bet of painting cars during stops, the artist explores different areas: he is mixing collage and paint, he is playing with the tickness of the paint, with lights or lack of lights. By combining all those elements, the painter drives the spectator to the essence of the car.



"Mi objetivo no es describir únicamente el coche. Mi propósito, además de plasmar la belleza de formas del automóvil, es reflejar la emoción que emana de las escenas en plena acción. Mi interés consiste en comunicar la relación, que casi es un vínculo familiar, entre el hombre y la máquina. El hombre creó el coche y su pureza y empeño han dado como resultado algunos ejemplares excepcionales."

Si bien es cierto que Yahn Janou pinta exclusivamente coches de carreras, el artista presenta episodios más complejos como, por ejemplo, las asistencias en los boxes, los altos para repostar, los relevos de pilotos, los preparativos anteriores a la salida. En sus escenarios siempre se mezclan los pilotos, mecánicos e ingenieros alrededor del coche.

El coche, símbolo de poder, velocidad, victoria e investigación tecnológica, es frecuentemente retratado durante las pausas. Aunque el coche esté inmóvil, la escena recrea la tensión y la febril actividad que reina en la carrera. Este capítulo es al menos tan importante como el mismo pilotaje.

Más allá del desafío de pintar los coches durante sus altos, el artista explora diferentes áreas: alterna el collage y la pintura, juega con el relieve de la pintura, con la luz o la ausencia de luz. Combinando todos estos elementos, el pintor conduce al espectador a la esencia del coche.
